KINDNESS FRUITS OF THE SPIRIT

                                                                       Kindness

Galatians 5:22-23

The fifth fruit of the Spirit is KINDNESS,  kindness is selfless, compassionate and merciful. It's greatest power revealed in practice to our enemies and amongst the least of these, Love your neighbor, show kindness to everyone.

Kindness means being considerate, courteous, helpful and understanding of others. God's  kindness began out of His love for us!

Kindness is "the virtue of showing love and the qualities of having a sympathetic, affectionate, warm hearmed and considerate  nature.

               KINDNESS BEGINS IN THE HEART

Some equate kindness with weakness. Others may think little acts of kindness are frivolous and unimportant. Our world is full of people who cut in line, insult those  around them, laugh at others misfortunes and try to show their superiority by dragging others down. Unfortunately, people who base their thinking on a " Survival of the fittest" mentality may not see the rationale for true kindness. People like to receive it, but often don't really see the benefit of being kind. 😰

Throughout the Bible two other qualities are often associated with kindness, love and mercy, Peter wrote of adding love to "brotherly kindness" (2 Peter 1:7), while Paul wrote about putting on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, long-suffering. (COL. 3:13)

WHAT IS KINDNESS? It is based on the kind set described in PHIL.2:3-4, Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind, let each esteem others better than themselves. Kindness is humbly giving ourselves in love and mercy to others who may not be able to give anything back, who sometimes don't deserve it,  and frequently don't thank us for it. So even though I'm  not the nicest person in the world, YET, it's  okay. I firmly believe  no act of kindness is ever wasted. Those acts change me and communicate Christ's love to others, a truth God continually reminds me of. Because every time I go to God expecting rolled eyes, or anger, or disappointment, or judgment or impatience, what I RECEIVE, EVERY TIME IS KINDNESS,kindness from the God " who did not spare His son, but gave Him up for us all" (Rom. 8: 32)

And that act of kindness is still changing everything. In a world so full of hate and despair and uncertainty.  God is still on the Throne and still in Control.

So let's be kind to one another!

Jesus is just a whisper away!

Blessings to you and yours,

Shalom to your home,

Till next time,

LJ
