                                                         SELF-CONTROL


Self-control... helps us to resist temptation and avoid conforming to the things of this world. It guides our decisions and correlates with her how we show the other fruits in our lives. Jesus Christ gives us the perfect example of self control, because He lived a sinless life and possessed every fruit of the spirit.

Self-control is the last fruit, it is certainly not the least. In fact,  it takes a great deal of self control to exercise the eight other vitures. We will all face temptation to sin in our own lives. People often lack self restraint to stop when they should. Many of us find ourselves tempted to overeat, over drink, over spend, over indulge. Some people mistake self control with patience, however, they are different. Self control allows you to keep your mind focused on God while avoiding temptation of your desires. Worldly temptations can be strong, but our spiritual self control can be stronger with the help of our faith. As with all of us. Certainly your biggest spiritual enemy has been yourself.

There are two proverbs that explain the difference of not having self control versus the value of having it.

Proverbs 25: 28  we are told, " like a city whose walls are broken down, is a man who lacks self control.

Proverbs 16:32  we learn, it is better to be patient then powerful. It is better to win control over yourself than over whole cities.

 The more you pray, study the bible, and draw closer to God, the more we will have the ability to demonstrate our own self control.


Remember  Jesus is just a whisper away

ANGER

 Welcome  back  I want to start today by apologizing for putting christians in the same think tank as me. "Be angry and do not sin" do not let the sun go done on your wrath, nor give place to the devil. Ephesians 4:31 Do any of you have issues with anger ? I DO, But I go to God in prayer with repentance  in my heart, ask for forgiveness, and strive to do better. My husband and I sometimes can't get over ourselves and go to bed with out resolving our issues. Then complain the next morning how lousy we slept. Our heavenly Father says in plain words don't go to bed angry!  Proverbs 15:1 A soft answer turns away wrath, so speak to each other in love and kindness. It is amazing how simple a small gesture of kindness can change the course of someone's  day. Just like a smile or a good morning. The Power of Prayer

 What is the Power of Prayer? "True prayer is neither a mere mental exercise nor a vocal performance. It is far deeper than that--it is a spiritual transacton with the Creator of Heaven and Earth" (Charles Spurgeon). Just what is the Power of prayer? How does prayer comfort, heal, restore? Why do we pray for our spouses, children for protection. How can praying make an impact? How can it change lives of those who don't know Jesus? The answer is simple, In Matthew 18:18-20, Jesus tells us about the power of prayer. "Truly, I say to you whatever you  bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
